With summer vacation right around the corner, students can indulge their inner bookworm with these sure-to-please novels.
The Fire Sermon by Francesca Haig is a dystopian novel that is the first in a new trilogy. After a nuclear fire four hundred years in the future, everyone on Earth is born with a twin. Each set of twins has a strong Alpha and a mutated Omega. Twins Cass and Zach are both physically perfect; but one of them has a secret that the other wants to expose.
Saint Anything is Sarah Dessen's twelfth novel and is set to come out on May 5, 2015. This take on sibling rivalry has a boy and his sister dealing with drunk driving and its consequences.
The DUFF: Designated Ugly Fat Friend by Kody Klepinger is the novel behind the film. One should read this contemporary novel before seeing it on the big screen. Bianca Piper may not be the prettiest of all her friends, but is too smart to fall for school knockout Wesley Rush who nicknames her Duff, yet she winds up kissing him and the love story begins.
Harper Lee's highly anticipated sequel to To Kill a Mockingbird is set to release on July 14. It is already number one on Amazon's best seller list. Go Set a Watchman revolves around Scout and the other characters 20 years after To Kill a Mockingbird. Scout has returned from New York City to Maycomb to visit her father.
